Blogger Recognition Award Nomination!
Hi Everyone, I am extremely excited and honored to be nominated for this amazing award! I almost talked myself out of blogging when I started reading how challenging it is, but I am incredibly glad I didn’t! (It was the inspirational articles from other bloggers that pushed me forward. Thank you!) I started blogging about two months ago, and I am looking forward to a future filled with blogging!
I want to start out by saying a huge THANK YOU to Lacy Ngo from Mindfulness in Faith and Food for giving me the nomination! Her blog URL is https://www.mindfulnessinfaithandfood.com/
Lacy’s experience and dedication to nutrition, her faith, and writing inspired her to share her wealth of knowledge and write her blog. Her passion for writing started when she was a child, and she has been writing ever since. Because of her desire to share information, I think of her as a fellow life-long teacher. Congrats to her for getting nominated as well!
So what is Blogger Recognition Award?
Blogger Recognition Award is given to bloggers by bloggers to encourage and acknowledge the hard work and effort that goes into creating posts. It’s an opportunity for bloggers to recognize one another for each of our contributions to their blog and the blogging community!
How did you start your blog?
Teaching is in my blood. I have been an elementary school teacher, college professor, and an academic librarian. Like Lacy, I did not want everything I learned to sit on a shelf, collecting dust, and spider webs.
I also decided that I wanted to be in a job that had a fair amount of flexibility. I knew my blog evolving into a stable income would be a marathon and not a sprint. That is why I currently have a full-time job.
All the blog posts I read by experienced bloggers, mentioned that bloggers should write about what they are knowledgeable and passionate about. That is how The Blog for Teachers, Readers, for Life was born! I wanted to reach out to teachers, parents, and librarians engaged in educating children from preschool-fifth grade. I believe we are all life-long teachers and learners. I think every parent/guardian is the most influential teacher their children will ever have.
In addition, I enjoy reading a wide variety of different books and sharing opinions with other readers.
Finally, I wanted to cast a wide net, so I have also included some enjoyable and, hopefully, useful lifestyle information in my blog posts.
Two pieces of advice for newbies:
- Join blogger/Pinterest/Instagram boost groups in Facebook. This connects you to other bloggers and gives your posts more exposure. FYI: Many of the groups have different rules.
(It’s funny now, but I was sitting in “no man’s land” with only my friends as followers twiddling my thumbs day after day until I joined a Facebook blogger group.)
- If you are not sure what to blog about, cast a wider net and use Google Analytics (free). This will allow you to see where your traffic/income is going, and then, you can focus your energy on the more popular posts.
My Nominees Are:
When you are nominated, there are few simple steps that you need to take to accept the award nomination and the guidelines are as follows:
- Write a post to show your award.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 other bloggers to nominate.
- Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
Congrats to these nominees – all of these blog sites are amazing! I know all of you put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into your posts, so I look forward to reading your posts!
Thank you again to Lacy for the nomination! Thanks for reading!
Christina (Who is still beaming!:))
